A graduate of the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Lucie Beaupré worked in clinics specializing in the French and European treatment methods for varicose and spider veins - in Montreal, Toronto, Miami Beach and West Palm Beach - from 1978 to 1988.
A well filled journey
In 1985, she pursued postgraduate studies in phlebology at the École de Médecine in Paris, followed by clinical work with Dr. Pierre Walois, secretary of the International Union of Phlebology.
In 1989, Dr. Beaupré opened her own clinic, the Dr. Beaupré Vein Clinic, with offices in both Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec.
In 1997, she was first to introduce in Ontario - Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy - a procedure that dramatically reduces needs for surgery of large varicies.
Since June 2010, Dr. Beaupré is certified by the American Board of Phlebology - after passing the certification exam.
Transmission of Knowledge
Dr. Beaupré keeps up with the latest advances in research and treatment at annual conferences in phlebology - in Canada, the U.S., Japan, Austria and France; she also appears as a guest speaker, as well as a monitor for other practitioners in the field.
Dr. Beaupré has given more than 200 lectures and interviews for radio, TV, magazines and newspapers, to inform the public about the prevention and treatment of varicose veins.

Dr. Beaupré is a member of both the American College of Phlebology and the Canadian Society of Phlebology.
In 2003, she was elected director of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society of Phlebology.
Since 2006, she is vice president of education within the Canadian Society of Phlebology.
Since 1978, Dr. Beaupré has treated, or supervised the treatment, of more than 75,000 patients suffering from vein disease.
