President
and Medical Director

A
graduate of the Université de Montréal's Faculty
of Medicine, Dr. Lucie Beaupré worked in clinics specializing
in the French and European treatment methods for varicose and
spider veins - in Montreal, Toronto, Miami Beach and West Palm
Beach - from 1978 to 1988.
In
1985, she pursued postgraduate studies in phlebology at the École
de Médecine in Paris, followed by clinical work with Dr.
Pierre Walois, secretary of the International Union of Phlebology.
In
1989, Dr. Beaupré opened her own clinic, the Dr. Beaupré
Vein Clinic, with offices in both Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau,
Quebec.
In 1997, she was first to introduce in Ontario - Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy - a procedure that dramatically reduces needs for surgery of large varicies.
Dr.
Beaupré keeps up with the latest advances in research and
treatment at annual conferences in phlebology - in Canada, the
U.S., Japan, Austria and France; she also appears as a guest speaker,
as well as a monitor for other practitioners in the field.
Dr.
Beaupré has given more than 200 lectures and interviews
for radio, TV, magazines and newspapers, to inform the public
about the prevention and treatment of varicose veins.
Dr.
Beaupré is a member of both the American College of Phlebology
and the Canadian Society of Phlebology.
In 2003 she was elected director of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society of Phlebology.
Since
1978, Dr. Beaupré has treated, or supervised the treatment,
of more than 75,000 patients suffering from vein disease.
Our Team and Our Approach
In
her Ottawa and Gatineau clinics, Dr. Beaupré works with
a team of physicians, registered nurses and administrative staff
who are specially trained in phlebology (vein disease).
The
primary goal, at our clinics, is to help patients lead a healthy
lifestyle, and improve their quality of life. The treatment of
varicose and spider veins plays an important role in this process.
Each
member of the team is specially trained in phlebology and sclerotherapy,
which enables them to give patients the individual attention they
deserve.
Patients
are fully informed about what the vein treatment involves, prior
to undergoing a complete clinical and technical examination (Doppler
or duplex ultrasound). Based on the findings of this exam, the
doctor recommends, and implements, a specific course of treatment.
Each case is unique, and every patient is important.
Satisfied
patients are our chief reward. Patients who feel good because
their legs look and feel better make our day!
Our
clinics use the latest technology to ensure the best diagnosis
and treatment for vein disease.
